Special Needs Assistants
Our Typical Day
- We are there in the mornings for emotional support and to help solve issues before they become problems
- We help students organise themselves at the lockers in the mornings and during morning breaks and lunchtime
- Note-taking in class
- Scribe and reader during classroom tests & house exam where required
- We support students in Home Economics with weighing out ingredients, gathering equipment, keeping the student on task, supporting skills eg chopping etc
- Support for students with projects, Classroom-Based Assessments (CBAs) and other assignments
- Travel with students on school outings and school tours
- Support with assistive technology
- Help students organise themselves for homework
